Recipe: Celebrate the New Year with Confetti Cake!

Welcome 2017 with this festive Inside-and-Out Confetti Cake!

Looking for a festive way to ring in 2017?

Here’s a unique option to celebrate the New Year…a cake that features confetti on the outside AND on the inside! This super easy confetti cake recipe with colorful confetti sprinkles inside and out will make anyone smile—and it’s a fun and festive way to welcome in the New Year!

What you’ll need:

  • 1 package white or yellow cake mix
  • 2 jars of vanilla frosting
  • 1 package (6.25 ox) colorful candy sprinkles (1/2 in the batter and 1/2 on top of the cake)
    • (Health tip: try to use non-GMO or organic ingredients whenever possible!)


  1. Confetti CakeFollow cake mix instructions and add sprinkles to mixture before pouring into two cake rounds (stir sprinkles in gently with only a few strokes).
  2. Bake two round cakes according to package instructions. Let cakes cool completely!
  3. Spread frosting over top of one cake and cover top with sprinkles. Place the other cake on top of the sprinkled one, and then frost the entire cake.
  4. Cover top with sprinkles and toss sprinkles around the sides. You can even add sparkles or festive party favors to really say “Happy New Year!”

This recipe makes a fun birthday cake too!
