Screen Shot 2015-12-22 at 12.38.01 PMLooking for a holiday craft to keep you busy over your winter break? Check out this fun and easy craft to make glitter ornaments that are not only beautiful, they show your inner beauty by upcycling! What is upcycling you ask? Upcycling is when you recycle and reuse something for new and greater purposes…and what a better purpose for a used light bulb than to glisten again as a glittery ornament on a wreath or Christmas tree?! Instead of going to the store a buying ornaments, show Mother Earth some love and care and make them yourself with something used. Get your friends and family members involved in making these one-of-a-kind bright light ornaments. They make a great gift too!

What you’ll need:

  • Glitter (as many colors as you want!)
  • Light bulbs (try using ones that don’t work anymore)
  • Wire
  • Glue
  • Paintbrush

Directions:

1. Use paintbrush to cover bulb with glue

2. Sprinkle glitter onto bulb

3. Wrap wire around neck of bulb five times and tie, leaving about 1 inch or wire remaining

4. Knot the ends of the wires to create a loop

5. Hang on a wreath, Christmas tree, or whatever you want!
