New #LikeAGirl “Keep Playing” Video
For over 30 years, the Always brand has advocated for girls confidence, changing the phrase ‘Like A Girl’ to mean powerful and amazing things. A new Always #LikeAGirl video launched recently and it addresses an important issue for girls worldwide: sports. Sports play an important role in building girls’ confidence during puberty and beyond.
For this new #LikeAGirl “Keep Playing” video campaign, Always partnered with Alex Morgan, American soccer player, Olympic Games gold medalist, and FIFA Women’s World Cup champion, just in time for this year’s Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The video highlights how getting involved in sports can build girls’ confidence.
According to new Always survey data, seven out of ten girls feel that they do not belong in sports – leading them to quit playing at puberty, when sports could benefit young girls most.
Along with the new video, Always revealed new survey data including:
- By age 17, at the end of puberty, more than half of girls (51%) will have quit sports.
- 67% of girls feel that society does not encourage them to play sports.
- Women ages 18-24 are twice as likely to be confident if they play sports regularly than those who do not play at all.

“Unstoppable” #LikeaGirl Video
In July 2015, Always released their “Unstoppable” video for their #LikeAGirl Confidence Summit. The “Unstoppable” video shows how society’s expectations of what girls can and can’t do impact girls’ self-esteem. Girls in the video are asked about times they’ve been told they couldn’t do something because of their gender. Always encourages girls to smash those expectations and be themselves.
